Visit of Sharples school to IES Punta del Verde

 

This last week we have had the pleasure of receiving in Seville students and teachers from Sharples school in Bolton, England. It has been an amazing week , resulting in new friends, improvement language skills in both languages ,knowledge of another culture and above all the strengthenings of bonds between both schools. The whole experience has made me understand that there is a place in education for all types of students  regardless their religion, nationalities or impairments. Sharples school has given us a lesson of how to manage inclusion in a natural and normal way, giving the chance of travelling to Seville to a great number of students (54) ,from white British to Indian British , including two visually impaired students who have enjoyed the activities at the same level than the rest . I know that these two students, one of whom was actually born in Spain, have brought with them to England the smells and the sounds of our city. 

The partnership between IES Punta del Verde and Sharples school dates back to 2019 more or less when both schools started an email project in which more than 100 students participated. Many of our students have had the chance of meeting their pen-friends in Seville. Furthermore, and in line with the project ot the British coordinator, Ms Catherine Liddy, students have also been able to visit a local factory (Frutos secos Reyes) to get an idea of how careers and professions work.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY- 8TH MARCH 2022

 For the International Women's day we have created a padlet in which students and teachers not only from our school but also from other European countries belonging to our Erasmus project, have added a post about a woman who has inspired them. The result is amazing.

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES - curso 2021-22

 A NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE CONTEST

We are going to create posters answering to the question . Why is it important to learn languages? .

In this context other schoolls from Seville will participate, IES Triana and IES Becquer. Then we

 will compete against schools from England, Sharples school, France and Spain 

Here  are some posters made by the students from  all the schools: 

The winner among IES  Punta del Verde, IES Triana and IES Becquer is our school. It is a poster made by two students of first ESO, Luz María Vallejo . and Marta Rexach

At an International level , the winning poster is a poster from Sharples school in England : 

  The second best postewr is fro a school in France, College Théophile Briant

And the third place is for the poster created by the two students of first ESO from IES Punta del Verde

HAMLET

 El 4 de junio el alumnado de la asignatura de Teatro y Cine de 4º de ESO, representó en el teatro Alameda la obra, Hamlet . Se trata de la 27/28 muestra de teatro escolar organizada por el ayuntamiento de Sevilla , muestra en la que el centro IES Punta del Verde ha participado durante seis años y en la que participaron también seis centros de Sevilla. 11 actores consiguieron levantar la obra , con mascarillas incluidas y algunos doblando personajes. Doy la enhorabuena a todos mis actores por su implicación , interés y trabajo en equipo bien hecho. Sé que participar en una actividad como esta será un recuerdo del instituto que nunca olvidarán.

WORD BOOK DAY - 23rd April 2021

 

FOR THE WORLD BOOK DAY WE HAVE DONE A CREATIVE ACTIVITY WHICH CONSISTED IN THE DESIGN OF THE FRONT PAGE OF A WELL KNOWN BOOK AND A POEM BASED ON OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THIS BOOK. THE ACTIVITY WAS DONE IN ENGLISH, FRENCH AND SPANISH.
